How PropFeeCheck works
We show our work. Here is where our numbers come from and how we add them up.
By the PropFeeDecoder team.
Where prices come from
Every price comes from the firm’s own official pages. We re-check each firm’s pages regularly and show the date we last read each number.
Each price shows its source link and the date we last checked it. If we can’t confirm a price, we mark it needs review and keep that plan out of the ranking until it’s confirmed. We never guess a missing number.
What “total fees to get funded” includes
- Evaluations: the evaluation price × the number of tries you enter.
- Monthly fees: for subscription plans, the monthly price × the months you expect to take.
- Activation fees: the one-time fee some firms charge when you pass.
- Resets: the reset fee × the resets you enter.
- Promo codes: only if you enter them. We don’t assume a discount.
Break-even: how much profit you need
You only keep your share of the profit, so you need to make more than your fees to get them back:
Break-even = total fees ÷ your payout split
Example: Topstep 50K costs $198 in fees. New Topstep traders keep 90%, so $198 ÷ 0.9 = $220 in profit to earn back $198.
Topstep’s 100% of the first $10,000 only applies to traders who joined before Jan 12, 2026.
How the ranking works
The ranking shows the cheapest path to funded based on the numbers you enter. Change your inputs and the order can change. Only fully verified plans are ranked.
Our independence
- We are not a prop firm.
- We don’t sell evaluations, funded accounts or trading signals.
- We have no affiliate links at launch.
- If we ever add affiliate links, we’ll disclose them clearly, and the math will stay the same for every firm.
- No firm can pay to change our numbers.
What it doesn’t cover
- Taxes and VAT, unless the firm states them in its price.
- Your trading results. Everyone’s results are different.
PropFeeCheck is for education. It is not financial advice.
